Paul Sharkey joined the Phillips Law Firm in October, 2003, after being in private practice for nearly 20 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981 from the University of Montana, and J.D. from the UM School of Law in 1984.

Mr. Sharkey’s principal area of practice is insurance defense. His years in practice have been focused on property and casualty disputes, defense of wrongful death, personal injury, property damage, insurance bad faith claims, prosecution and defense of declaratory judgment actions, and coverage opinions under auto, homeowner and commercial policies.

He is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in Montana, in Tribal Courts, and the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Montana, and Western Montana Bar Association.

Mr. Sharkey is the curator of a local ice rink, and has spent time volunteering with Little League as a coach. His hobbies and interests include fly fishing, rafting, hiking, golfing, hockey and hunting.
